10 Must-See Tourist Spots in Palm Springs

The Palm Springs area offers so many wonderful adventures year round. We have picked out our Top Ten stops. Here’s our list in no particular order.

1. Palm Canyon, near Palm Springs

Palm Canyon is just a few miles from downtown Palm Springs. It is a spectacular 15 mile long canyon wilderness with a waterfalls! Great for hiking and exploring. There is a trading post for souvenirs.

2. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Palm Springs

The Tramway makes just about every list we do because it’s just that great! Enjoy the views on the way to the top at about 8,500 feet. Bring your camera and enjoy the cooler climate at the top. A restaurant awaits your taste buds.

3. The Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs and Palm Desert

This wonderful museum has been in Palm Springs since the late 30’s. The Palm Desert location just a few years. All forms of art are on display year round. There is also a gift shop for your shopping pleasure.

4. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, Palm Desert and Indian Wells

This is a great way for the whole family to enjoy the desert and animals too! The zoo features zebras, giraffes, large cats and many others. Special events happen during the season.

5. The Palm Springs Air Museum, Palm Springs

Considered one of the finest in the country, this is a must stop for aviation lovers of all  ages! Aircraft fill the hangars from many eras and they air shows on a regular basis.

6. The Coachella Valley Preserve, Palm Springs

Located just east of Palm Springs, this is a great place for naturalists and outdoor types. The preserve is an amazing 13,000 acres with so much to see and enjoy. Guided tours are available.

7. Palm Springs Modern Architecture, Palm Springs

Lovers of Modern Architecture have called the Palm Springs area it’s capitol! Make up your own tour and cruise around the area and enjot the wonderful homes and buildings that make up this era!

8. Moorten Botanical Garden, Palm Springs

Explore this one-acre garden that features cacti and other desert plants. It’s family owned and was established in 1938!  The garden is home to more than 3,000 plants and group tours are available.

9. Desert Adventures, Palm Springs

Desert Adventures is an eco-tour company offering a variety of tours in the Greater Palm Springs area. They have been around since 1987 and experienced guides and drivers motor you around in their red Jeep Scramblers. The tours are in-depth, educational and fun!

10. Villagefest, Palm Springs

If you happen to be the area on a Thursday evening you must stop by Villagefest. Every Thursday night on Palm Canyon Drive in downtown Palm Springs the street becomes filled with art, entertainment, food vendors and shopping. There really truly is something for everyone.
