1. Help Serve at a Local Shelter
Many shelters in the area will be serving those in need of a good Thanksgiving meal. Why not volunteer to be one of those serving food this year.
2. Take a Hike
We have beautiful hiking trails all over the Coachella Valley. Here’s a great way to get rid of some of those Thanksgiving calories. There are trails for all hiking abilities waiting for you in the beautiful mountains.

3. Go Black Friday Shopping
If you are willing to brave the wee hours for those bargains this could be a new family tradition. What will you be willing to stand in line for this year.
4. Take a Bike Tour
There are plenty of great neighborhoods to explore. If you love Modern Architecture, pick an area, ride the bike and enjoy the scenery.
5. Ride the Tram
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is a valley treasure! Always worth the ride to the top and don’t forget you can dine at the top of the mountain.
6. Check out the Desert Arts Festival
The Desert Arts Festival is Thanksgiving weekend in Palm Springs at Frances Stevens Park. The hours are 10am-4pm. Browse artisan wares, crafts to fine art. Admission is free.
Check out this amazing display after Thanksgiving dinner. Now in it’s 30th year, this is an experience like no other! The display is on from 4pm-9:30pm nightly. Find this event at 1077 East Granvia Valmonte.
8. Wildlights at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens
Be sure to include this in your plans. Over a million twinkling lights illuminate the park. The fun begins on November 25th. Be sure to check their website for dates and times.
9. Spotlight 29 Casino, Coachella
If you are an ABBA fan, check out ABBAFAB, A Celebration Of ABBA. This should be a fun show on November 26th showtime is 8pm.
10. Paws and Hearts 16th Annual Dog Walk
This is a fun and easy event for dog lovers of all kinds. It takes place on Saturday November 26th at The Westin Mission Hills, Rancho Mirage. Registration is 9am and the walk is at 10am. It’s a short 2 mile walk with continental breakfast, and more. Paws and Hearts is an Animal Assisted Therapy program and funds raised help this wonderful program.
